Fishing with Rod: Rainbow trout release

On April 10th, 2008, the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC released over 1000 rainbow trout into Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam. Up to 10000 rainbow trout are expected to be released into Lafarge Lake this season. These fish, weighing between 250g and 600g, are intended to be caught by anglers. It is an urban fishery that can be participated by anglers of all ages and skill levels. There are up to 20 lakes in the Lower Mainland where this put and take fishery takes place year round. Saturday’s Trout Tournament at Ridley Lake to benefit Ridley soccer program
Those who are angling for some family fun are invited to come out to Ridley Park Lake for the thirrd annual Trout Fishing Tournament hosted by the Ridley High School Boys Soccer Team on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rain date will be Sept. 26.
